I was born in Riverside and, but for a hiatus to attend college and law school I have lived here exclusively. I am a third-generation Riverside resident on both sides of my family. I was admitted to the bar in 1994 and since then I have devoted my practice exclusively to family law since admission.

I have been accorded Certified Family Specialist status by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization since 1994 and I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. I am one of only 1700 attorneys granted Fellowship in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the only one in Riveride and Western Riverside County for that matter. I am a member of the Association of Family Law Specialists and the Family Section of both the State Bar of Califonia and the County of Riverside. I am a past president of the Riverside Bar Association’s Family Law Section.

I am a commissioner of the state bar’s Family Law Advisory Commission. This advisory commission is limited to ten family law specialists from across California. This commission writes and evaluates prospective family law specialists and grades the exams from bar attorneys to become certified family law specialists.

My wife and I have been married since 1997 and have two wonderful daughters.

My approach to the family law practice is to first try to settle your case. I am very comfortable in a courtroom and I am a skilled litigator, but under most circumstances litigation is not the best way to resolve most family law issues. I am cognizant of the expense of these proceedings and that is an important factor. The approach is to determine what is fair in your particular case and to try to settle in that range. If not, the case needs to be tried or mediation explored. It is my job to get your case done as quickly and inexpensively as possible, insuring of course that the result is fair.

I came to Rob with a mess.  I had received poor advise and had stipulated to a domestic violence finding against me.  Largely as a result I have professionally supervised visits with my daughter and my wife got sole legal custody.  Rob took the approach of getting rehabilitating my reputation with the court and we continued to fight and I now have joint legal and I have my children over 50% of the time.  Rob was a fighter and was more than fair with me as to his fees.

I am a high wage earner with two children with my ex spouse.  My ex was somewhat mentally unstable and I was awarded sole custody.  Rob was aggressive in getting me this.  We then had a long and complicated trial regarding the duration of our marriage. This was due to the fact  had a long period of separation during the marriage.  We prevailed and this saved me a huge amount of money as I did not have to pay long term spousal support.  My ex also received less than ½ of the retirement assets that she had asked for.
